Don’t miss your chance to see Proscenium Players Inc’s production of "Gaslight." Final performances take place March 3-5 in the Brewery Arts Center’s The Maize Theater.
The Victorian Era play is a dark tale of a marriage based on deceit and trickery, and a husband committed to driving his wife insane in order to steal from her. The plot becomes even more twisted with the discovery of an unsolved murder in their home.
Opening weekend was a near sellout and tickets are selling fast for the final performances.
“Audience reaction has been overwhelmingly positive,” said director Steven Segal. “I’m hearing it described as overwhelming and intense which is what we hoped for. The acting is incredibly strong, which has led to strong reactions from the audience.”
While Gaslight was written in 1938, the script remains relevant today. Aimed at a mature audience, the story line tackles domestic violence, mental illness and murder. Founded in 1965, The Proscenium Players Inc is Carson City’s longest running theater company.
Gaslight performances on March 3 and 4 are at 7 p.m. and March 5 at 2 p.m.
