Warrants issued: The controller issued a batch of small warrants in favor of those gallant heroes, the “battle scared” veterans of Virginia City, who rallied round their country’s state prison in her hour of need, ready to sinch a truant convict should such a character cross their line of snatch.

All sorts: The Rev. Mr. Davis and the Episcopal choir will officiate at the state prison.

The Chinese person injured on the railroad track is getting along well and will recover. The physicians find his injuries all external.

All sorts: It is thought that a creamery in Carson could be kept running easily on the supply of milk in this vicinity.

Old corner vacant: The old drug store building on the corner of Carson and King streets, presents a lonesome appearance these days and nights. The building is one of the oldest in the city built mainly of adobe. It is one of the old-time landmarks. On account of natural decay and nature of construction, it has become almost inhabitable. In the meantime, a very nice building has been fitted up in the city for the drug store.

Goldfield child: Herbert Nash was shot at noon by his wife. He was taken to the county hospital where it was found that the bullet had passed through his neck and will not be fatal. The wife, maiden name Drew, was taken to the courthouse and kept in custody in the district attorney’s office. The little boy, Bert, aged four years, bewildered by it all, accompanied his mother. A live town: The Metropolis Light and Power Company installed electric lighting up and down Lincoln Street from Hotel Metropolis to the new station building of the S.P. This is quite an improvement, and it is said that Metropolis is the second town in the county to install electric streetlights.

Reservoir stocked: Rye Patch Reservoir north of Lovelock will be restocked. The popular fishery lost a battle to the drought when it ran dry. Run off from heavy winter snowpack has restored the Humboldt River, reservoirs, and lakes for the first time in six years. Thousands of game fish will be stocked at Rye Patch.
