The Greenwave track and field team trekked over the Sierra to compete in the Del Oro Invitational on Friday.

Fallon next competes in Fernley on Friday.

The following are Fallon’s top-10 varsity finishes and leading personal bests, and JV’s top-10 results from the Del Oro meet.


Sprints

Junior Max McCoy led the team with a personal-best 12.01-second run to finish 17th in the 100 followed by junior Jaiden McFadden, who also PR’d at 12.15. McFadden ran a personal-best 24.92 to finish 17th in the 200, and sophomore Edwin Ugalde and McCoy ran personal bests in the 400 with Ugalde finishing 14th at 57.32 and McCoy finishing 19th at 59.57.

For the girls, junior Brienna McArthur ran a personal-best 14.99 in the 100 and freshman Jenna Steffens ran 15.37, also a personal best. Sophomore Jacquelinne Vilchiz-Mondragon ran a personal-best 35.45 in the 200, and senior Madix Wehe ran 1:14.52, a personal best, in the 400.


Distance

Senior William Brim-Klein finished sixth in the 800 in 2:12.47 and senior Yahir Uglade ran a personal-best 2:23.56. Sophomores Edwin Ugalde and Uriel Romero-Montes finished second and ninth in the boys JV division of the 800 with times of 2:17.27 and 2:24.93.

Sophomores Uriel Romero-Montes and Henry Vergara had personal bests of 5:22.83 and 6:08.03 in the 1,600. In the boys JV 3,200, sophomores Tyler Huckaby, Manuel DeSantiago and Vergara finished fourth through six with times of 13:19.52, 13:43.27 and 13:45.68.


Hurdles

Sophomore Braden Sorensen finished fourth in the JV 110 hurdles and second in the JV 300 hurdles in 18.77 and 46.33, and Brim-Klein was sixth in the varsity 300 hurdles in 46.16.


Relays

The 4x400 boys relay team of Bransyn Wright, Yahir and Edwin Ugalde, and Brim-Klein finished sixth in 3:51.33.


Throws

Junior Jacob Sorensen finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 0.5 inches, a personal best, and sophomores Alec Lecker and Brody Hughes had personal records of 34-0.25 and 26-6.5. In the discus, Sorensen and Hughes broke their own records with throws of 105-10 and 71-4.

For the girls, freshman Katelyn Glinka had a personal-best throw of 24-4. All three discus throwers also had personal bests, with Steffens leading the team at 65-6. Vilchiz-Mondragon threw for 56 feet and freshman Glinka finished at 53-11.5.


Jumps

Junior Ethan Tarner finished fourth in the high jump at 5-6, and Wright was second in the boys JV division at 5-2. In the long jump, junior Kaeden Simpson had a personal best of 15-3.25. In the triple, junior Braden Hendrix finished eighth at 35-2.75, a personal best. Wright won the JV triple jump with a leap of 35-9.5 and freshman Maximillion Dahl was fourth at 27-4.5.


Pole vault

McFadden finished sixth and junior Edmond Allyn was seventh in the pole vault, both finishing at 9 feet. Dahl finished seventh in the JV division at 6 feet.
