“Orphan Train: a Children's Musical” shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Churchill County High School auditorium.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and tickets may be purchased through https://www.paccnv.org/tickets.html or from the ticket table each night.

The musical is an historical fiction about the estimated 250,000 orphaned and abandoned children in poverty-stricken New York City who were transported by train to find new homes throughout the United States between 1854 and 1929.

Twenty-six local performers from third through sixth grade fill out the cast of mostly fictional accounts. Adelynn Munoz, Annabelle Kuite and Keaton Lacow play characters based on the real lives of Jean Sexton, Irma Craig and Lee Nailling, respectively.

Performing Arts of Churchill County is a non-profit organization formed in 2022 to produce and promote the performing arts in the Churchill County area.

“Orphan Train” Director Tim Wuth directed 12 children’s musicals during his 27-year career in education with the Pershing County School District.

The P.A.C.C. creative team of Summer Stanton, Noreen Swenson, Suzette Benecke, Ani Acosta and Board President David Ernst has decades of combined experience in musical theater performance and education.

Planning for the 2023-24 musical season is well underway. For information, to join the email list or to volunteer, visit the website at paccnv.org.
