As a part of the June 3 downtown wine walk, the Carson City Chamber is sponsoring a free performance by the always popular United States Air Force Mobility Band, the high-energy pop and rock band of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West stationed at Travis Air Force Base, California.

This talented band is best known for its captivating and high energy rock performances and has appeared at McFadden twice following the Nevada Day Parade. The band is so good they have had the honor to perform for U.S. Presidents, international dignitaries and have shared the stage with notable acts such as Kid Rock, Daughtry, and Brad Paisley.

The band will perform on the McFadden Plaza Stage between 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 as part of the wine walk festivities and will encourage “walkers” to rock and dance the afternoon away before going on to enjoy dinner downtown.

Performing will be: A1C Eric Nakamoto, Bass; SSgt Michael Havens and TSgt Ryan Manzi on guitars; Mike Roe on drums; and vocals will be SrA Keegan Bushouer and A1C Natalie Angst.  The professional sound/audio will be monitored by A1C Colten Mortensen.

The monthly Carson City Wine Walk held the first Saturday of each month (rain or shine) began in March 2007 with 20 participating businesses that today has grown to 40 businesses.  Started by the Old Town Merchant’s Association, today the event is sponsored by the Downtown Business Association (DBA) and touts the event as “the best wine walk in Northern Nevada!” with the purpose of familiarizing residents and visitors with downtown businesses and attractions.

Tickets for the wine walk are available online only - www.downtowncarson.org/carson-city-wine-walk – and must be purchased by 11 am the day of the event and can be picked up between 1 pm – 3 pm at the Brewery Arts Center.  The concert is free.
