On Sunday, at 11:54 p.m., the Carson City Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in the 2600 block of Poole Way in east Carson City, ultimately leading to the arrest of a man suspected of arson, according to a news release from CCSO.
“Several residents called to report a home was on fire at the location,” reads the release. “Firefighters suppressed the fire at the home, which was heavily damaged. No one was located inside the home, and there were no injuries reported. Investigators from the Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office determined the cause of the fire was likely intentional.”
According to CCSO, a suspect was identified by detectives and was arrested on Tuesday at 6:40 p.m. The suspect was identified as John Wayne Bragg Sr. He is being held at the Carson City Jail on a $40,000 bond on charges of first-degree arson.
