Mayor Ken Tedford and the city of Fallon celebrated the grand opening of “Fallon on Ice” Saturday marking the successful implementation of a project that had been in the works for over eight years.
The temporary rink is located at 10 S. Carson St. next to the Douglass House and across from City Hall and will be open until mid-January.
Admission prices are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors/military and $12 for 5-17-year-olds. Children 4 and under are free. Skate rental is available as well as a $3 discount for anyone bringing their own skates. Double-blade skates are available for young children. Skating aids in the shape of dolphins and seals are also on site to assist new skaters or to give young children a ride around the rink.
Twelve-years-old and under must be accompanied by an adult. A waiver must be signed by every participant, or by a parent/guardian for anyone under 18 years of age. The waiver may be filled out ahead of time at www.fallonnevada.gov/fallononice.
