Please note that our Stand Up Comedy scheduled for this Saturday evening was unfortunately canceled, but comedy will be back after the first of the year.
So, this weekend we have two great movies for you and they are free. Playing Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. is the 2006 animated comedy adventure “Over the Hedge.” When Verne and fellow woodland friends awake from winter's hibernation, they find they have some new neighbors: humans and RJ, an opportunistic raccoon who shows the others how to exploit the suburban bounty laid out before them.
Voices provided by Bruce Willis, Steve Carell, Wanda Sykes, Nick Nolte and Garry Shandling.
Our second feature each evening at 7 p.m. is the 1982 animated family fantasy “The Last Unicorn.” In this animated musical, the villainous King Haggard plots to destroy all the world's unicorns. When a young unicorn learns that she is in danger and that she may soon be the last of her kind, she leaves the safety of her protected forest and enlist the help of Schmendrick, a gentle, albeit clumsy, sorcerer. Together they embark on a long and dangerous journey with one goal: to defeat Haggard and save the unicorns from extinction.
Voices provided by Mia Farrow, Jeff Bridges, Christopher Lee, Alan Arkin and Angela Lansbury.
Mark your calendars for two special events we have coming up. On Friday evening, Dec. 1, following the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, the Lahontan Valley Concert Choir will be performing Christmas songs on our historic stage; please come join us.
Also on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m., we are excited to have these terrific Fallon musicians take our stage — Steve and Rena plus Annabelle. Join us for an evening of great music. Tickets are only $12 and are available the night of the concert at the door.
