The Carson City Sheriff's Office held its annual volunteer appreciation dinner on Nov. 4 at Casino Fandango to recognize and celebrate “the dedicated volunteers who tirelessly support the sheriff's office,” CCSO said in a news release.
The event, attended by Sheriff Ken Furlong, Undersheriff Jerome Tushbant, Assistant Sheriffs James Primka and Daniel Gonzales and Volunteer Coordinator Robert Rikalo, served as an opportunity to express gratitude to the CCSO volunteers.
“The volunteers were commended for their remarkable commitment, with some having dedicated over 47 years of service to the community,” CCSO said. “Congressman Mark Amodei also graced the occasion, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of the entire CCSO volunteer team in giving back to the Carson City community. In recognition of their efforts, each volunteer was presented with a certificate of appreciation. Congressman Amodei further extended his gratitude by awarding congressional recognition to each volunteer for their remarkable service.”
CCSO volunteer groups include members from the Uniformed Reserve Unit, Cadets, Search and Rescue, Mounted Unit, Aero Squadron, VIPs, Chaplains, Front Counter Volunteers, Jail Visitation Volunteers and Administrative Volunteers.
“During the 2023 year, CCSO volunteers have graciously volunteered a remarkable 19,322-plus hours of service and have a truly diverse team of over 120 volunteers with an accumulated 800-plus years serving the Carson City Sheriff’s Office,” CCSO said. “Their selfless dedication and commitment have greatly contributed to the success of CCSO.”
