2 Nevada highway troopers hit, killed in Las Vegas

Two Nevada State troopers were killed Thursday morning on Interstate 15 near downtown Las Vegas, according to a news release from NSP.

The release said the troopers, who have not been identified, were hit while assisting a motorist.

“We are deeply saddened to report that two Nevada State Troopers conducting a motorist assist earlier this morning in Las Vegas were struck by a vehicle and have been confirmed deceased,” the release said. “The investigation is currently ongoing and being conducted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

“Our prayers are with the families and loved ones of our fallen troopers.

I-15 northbound at Charleston and all ramps from the U.S. 95 to the I-15 northbound were closed for the investigation.
