Western Nevada College has hired 2011 WNC graduate Kara Spracklin as Realizing Opportunities for the American Dream to Succeed program coordinator.
Spracklin previously was coordinator of student success at the University of Nevada, Reno. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from WNC and bachelor’s and master’s degree in human development and family studies from UNR.
WNCs ROADS program is a collaboration between WNC and Nevada Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation to assist unemployed and underemployed Nevadans by providing them with educational training and skills needed for positions that are in high-demand occupations and industries.
The program guides participants to scholarship funding to train in automotive mechanics, machine tool technology, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, construction, computer information technology, truck-driving (CDL), and welding.
Students can elect to take accelerated training to earn certifications and skills to enter the workforce sooner. Individuals interested in the program can apply at www.wnc.edu/roads/.
