Churchill County High Homecoming gets underway

The 2023 Churchill County High School Homecoming schedule festivities kick off Monday, Sept. 25 with a pep assembly at 8:30 a.m.

The day’s dress-up theme is "Anything but a Backpack." Students should use any school appropriate item except a backpack to carry their things for the day.

The Homecoming parade will start on Maine Street at 5:30 p.m.

The senior and junior Powder Puff football teams face off at 6:30 p.m. on the Edward Arciniega Field at CCHS. Admission to the game is $5 per person with no student body card discounts. A bonfire follows immediately after the game until 9 p.m.

Tuesday’s dress-up theme is divided by class. Freshmen should dress as “Babies,” sophomores as “Little Kids,” juniors as “Midlife Crisis,” seniors as “Senior Citizens” and staff may dress as any of the day’s four themes.

Wednesday is “Country vs. Hippies” day. A lip sync contest starts at 7 p.m. in the CCHS auditorium. Admission is $5 per person and doors will close when the venue has reached capacity.

Thursday is “Tacky Tourist” dress-up day. The Fallon Theatres will hold a CCHS students-only movie night for “Back to the Future” and “Grease” beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free with a student body card and concessions will be available for purchase.

Friday is “Neon or Green and White Spirit” day. The varsity Homecoming football game begins at 7 p.m.

The Homecoming dance with a “Disco” theme will run from 8:30-10:30 p.m. at the CCHS auxiliary gym. Guests are $15 each, and they must submit a request form to attend.
