The Bighorns volleyball team fell twice last week to extend its losing streak to three.
Oasis Academy fell to 1-6 in the Northern 2A, its first year in the league after spending its previous years in the 1A.
Oasis lost to Incline — 25-6, 25-11 and 25-10 — Wednesday in Fallon.
Sophomore Grace Laca led the team in kills with two and junior Kaylin Guthrie had one. Sophomore Dahlila Creer and Laca each recorded an ace, Laca had a block and dig, and freshman Reece Laca had one dig. Sophomore Alyssa Ayers and senior Madison Darst each had one assist.
The Bighorns won their first game, 25-22, against Sierra Lutheran on Saturday in Fallon before losing the next three, 25-18, 25-16 and 25-19.
Grace Laca led the team in kills with nine followed by Creer with seven and Darst with four. Ayers led in aces with five while Laca had three. Darst picked up the team’s only block and Laca had a block assist. Creer and Laca each had one dig, and Ayers had a match-high 17 assists and Darst added six.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Bighorns cross country team competed at the Reed Invitational on Friday in Sparks.
Sophomore Hunter Adams led the team in the junior varsity boys division of the 5K race with a run of 23 minutes, 5 seconds, followed by freshman Kamron Bracken in 23:31. Freshman Leonidas Arcoraci finished the course in 24:40, followed by sophomore Kayden White, 24:44; sophomore Jay Frederick, 27:03; and sophomore Chase Ackerman, 29:08.
For the junior varsity girls, sophomore Kaylan Greenberg was the school’s lone runner, finishing the race in 35:06.
The top times in the JV boys and girls divisions were 18:45 and 22:58.
