Kaleb Frolander and Kasyn Smith qualified for state BMX racing two weeks ago.
Frolander, a freshman at Douglas High, raced one season in 2015, but hadn’t picked it back up in a serious capacity until April 2022.
Smith, age 9, also started riding BMX at the same time.
Both riders spend a minimum of three days a week with practices on Wednesday and competitions Friday and Sunday.
Though, the two spend most days after school practicing sprints at home.
Frolander had a first place and two second place finishes, during the three-day Black Jack National race in July at the Reno Livestock Center.
Both will be competing in Tulsa, Oklahoma this November in the Race of Champions at Grands. It is an invitation-only race.
