The Carson City Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help on Monday in identifying a suspect in an alleged road rage incident in the north part of town.
“A suspect pointed a firearm at the victim while driving during a perceived road rage incident,” CCSO said in a press release.
The case number is 24-1817.
“On March 21, 2024, at around 7 a.m., the victim in the case was leaving the parking lot of 3325 Retail Drive,” the release said. “When she entered the roadway on Retail Drive, a male in a silver four door sedan, possibly a Nissan, simultaneously entered the roadway from the Walmart parking lot at 3200 Market St.”
The driver of the sedan “became irate and followed the victim to the southbound on-ramp on to I-580.”
“He sped around her and overtook her and caused her to move off of the roadway. The suspect vehicle moved in front of the victim’s vehicle and slammed on his brakes. He pulled out a pistol and pointed it at her two separate times,” the release said.
Surveillance footage from Walmart showed the suspect leaving the store prior to the incident. The suspect is described as a white male adult with light, short hair, and is medium height and build. He was wearing a yellow jacket over a gray collared shirt with dark pants and red and white shoes, CCSO said.
Anyone with information should contact the CCSO Patrol Division, Deputy Derrick Kepler, at (775) 283-7857, Dispatch at (775) 887-2007 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
