The Greenwave swimming team split against Lowry on March 23 at the Carson Aquatic Center.

The Fallon boys team defeated the Humboldt County school, 84-57, while the Lady Wave fell, 105-89.

For the boys, the 200-yard medley relay team of William McLean, Zachary Koenig, Michael Liston and Joshua Enriquez won the race by 12 seconds, finishing with a time of 2:04.42 seconds. Koenig won the 200 free uncontested in 1:57.29 while McClean won the 200 individual medley uncontested in 2:43.09. Liston won the 50 free in 27.03 seconds while Kage Oyler finished third in 35.20.

Liston won the 100 fly uncontested in 1:12.28, and Enriquez finished third in the 100 free in 1:11.09. The team of Liston, Oyler, McLean and Koenig won the 200 relay in 1:55.95, almost 2 seconds ahead of the Buckaroos. McLean and Oyler finished 1-2 in the 100 back in 1:21.16 and 1:29.06. Koenig won the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.23, almost 20 seconds ahead of Lowry.

The Lady Wave won six of the 10 events but the Buckaroos’ depth was the difference.

The 200 medley relay team of Gracie Cosman, Miranda Reeder, Evelyn Lott and Jocylyn Miller won the race in 2:26.51 but Lowry had two teams compete to trail by only two points (10-8) in the event.

The same happened when Cosman won the 200 free in 2:28.37 and 200 individual medley in 2:43.02, and Miller won the 50 free in 30.91. While Katelen Helton, Lott and Reeder each finished second in the 200 free, 200 IM and 50 free, Lowry countered with third- and fourth-place finishes in the first two and placed third through eighth in the latter.

After four races, Fallon led 52-40.

Lott and Miller finished 1-2 in the 500 free with times of 7:17.56 and 7:34.60, but Lowry won four events unopposed to take the team lead. Helton won the 100 breaststroke in 1:38.22 while Reeder finished third in 1:45.06. The 400 relay team of Miller, Helton, Lott and Cosman won uncontested in 4:46.81.
