Juvenile arrested after starting brush fire in Dayton

At about 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Lyon County Sheriff's Office deputies and Central Lyon County Fire Department were dispatched to the area of Woodlake Circle, in Dayton for a brushfire. Citizens reported seeing juveniles in the area setting the fire.

The fire was immediately extinguished by fire personnel. The fire was contained to a five-foot area of brush. No houses or other structures were threatened or damaged.

With the assistance of the fire department, deputies were able to locate four juveniles responsible for setting the fire. One of the juveniles admitted to starting the fire and he was arrested on arson charges. The other juveniles were released to their parents pending additional charges.
