Fallon Animal Welfare Group volunteers celebrated the nonprofit organization’s move to a new location June 28 with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Fallon Chamber of Commerce.

The larger facility at 4629 Reno Highway has air conditioning, heating and running water as well as more room for individual kennels and supply storage.

FAWG’s main programs are the “trap-neuter-return” of feral and other free-roaming cats and fostering and adopting out cats and kittens. Volunteers are always needed to join the FAWG “family” and help with trapping, cleaning, fundraising, fostering and socializing with the cats.

Donations of cat food and supplies can be mailed to the facility or dropped off Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information or to make a visitation appointment to meet the cats and kittens currently available for adoption call 775-217-4745.
