Overnight lane closures will take place on Interstate 580 and Slide Mountain Road will be closed as the Nevada Department of Transportation enhances roadside barrier rail and guardrail.

Interstate 580 in Washoe Valley will see overnight lane reductions through mid-September.

One lane will be closed in each direction of I-580 between Bellevue Road and Eastlake Boulevard in Washoe Valley from 6 p.m.-6 a.m. nightly Sunday evenings through Friday mornings as crews replace the roadway median barrier.

Two lanes in each direction will remain available during daytime hours. Speed limits will be reduced to 55 mph.

Moderate travel delays can be expected through the work zone.

State Route 878 (Slide Mountain Road) will be closed Monday, Aug. 12 through mid-September as crews replace roadside guardrail. The roadway provides access from Mt. Rose Highway to Mt. Rose Ski Resort.

With the roadside barrier rail removed alongside a steep hillside, the road is closed for public safety. Mt. Rose Ski Resort staff will be able to access the road.
