It’s going to be a busy weekend at the theatre between a free concert on Friday night and open house tours on Saturday followed by a few hours of karaoke. The 10th annual Community Reunion events will have us hopping.

Playing Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. is the 2021 live-action animated hybrid film, “Tom & Jerry.” This cat and mouse duo have been tormenting each other since 1940 and little has changed 81 years later. The movie is rated PG.

Friday night at 7 p.m. we’ll have local talent River Rogue on stage for a free Community Reunion concert event. River Rogue is a dynamic cover band hailing from Schurz/Fallon/Carson City, channeling the best of country, rock and blues. As always, we’ll have beer and wine available at the concession stand along with all our regular offerings.

The theatre will be wide open to the community on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We invite everyone to come and reminisce about their experiences in the historic theatre and see the improvements done during the past nine years by the nonprofit Fallon Community Theatre, Inc. Several CCHS alumni will be on hand to offer customized guided tours for anyone interested.

Afterward, please join us for two fun hours of karaoke from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All ages are welcome to participate.

On Saturday night we’ll be showing the 1947 John Wayne classic “Angel and the Badman” at 7 p.m. When a notorious gunman meets a beautiful Quaker girl he’s forced to choose between his world and hers.

Also, save the date for our annual summer fundraising 5K fun run/walk on the Aug. 24 — The Cantaloupe Canter! Early registration and sponsorship forms can be found on our website, fallontheatre.com and more information can always be found through our Facebook page.
