Northern Nevada Dream Center’s sixth annual Back To School Bash is happening Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Marv Teixeira Pavilion at Mills Park in Carson City.
The dream center will be distributing backpacks stuffed with school supplies to students in need, free groceries for families, and other surprises.
Carson City Mayor Lori Bagwell will help with backpack distribution along with friends from the Carson City Grocery Outlet.
Event activities include free vision screenings by the Carson City Host Lions Club, goodies from Dick Campagni’s Capital Ford, and free swag and safety materials from Safety Sally with the Western Nevada Safe Routes to School program.
Firefighters from the Carson City Fire Department will offer tours of their firetrucks, and the Greater Nevada Mortgage G-Bus will be in attendance with giveaways and games. The Chick-Fil-A Cow will also be in attendance.
Attendees will have a chance to win a $250 Grocery Outlet gift card. The event is free and open to students in need in grades K-12 in Carson, Douglas, Storey and Lyon counties.
Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must be present and accompanied by a parent/guardian.
