Navy: Sailors injured in Fallon training exercise

The U.S. Navy reports 10 sailors suffered non-life threatening injuries Thursday in an incident involving two MH-60S Seahawk helicopters at Naval Air Station Fallon.

According to spokeswoman Lt. Cmdr. Beth Teach from Naval Air Force Pacific in Coronado, California, the helicopters were assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 12.

The sailors were transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno at approximately 9:15 p.m. Thursday. The helicopters landed at Pickett Park across the street from Renown. The Reno Police Department assisted with traffic control .

Teach said the incident is under investigation.
