CARSON VOLLEYBALL FLAWLESS THROUGH OPENING TOURNAMENT
The Carson High volleyball team won its first six matches in its season-opening tournament over the weekend, dropping only one set in the process.
The Senators swept Lowry, Bishop Union, Mineral County, Fallon and Reed in straight sets while picking up a 2-1 win over McQueen.
UP NEXT: Carson (6-0) will host McQueen (7-1) Thursday at 6 p.m. in a Class 5A North league match.
CARSON BOYS SOCCER BESTS INCLINE, NORTH VALLEYS
A 14th minute goal from Juan Nathan Alegria allowed the Senator boys soccer team to pick up a 1-0 victory over Incline High in its season opener Friday.
Monday, the Senators bested North Valleys, 2-0, behind goals from Aaron Saucedo-Zatarain and Jaden Gomez.
Saucedo-Zatarain tallied the first goal in the 13th minute while Gomez scored on a free kick from 30 yards out, burying it in the top corner.
Joshua Lopez – the Senator goalkeeper – saved a penalty kick in the first half to keep Carson in front.
UP NEXT: Carson (2-0) returned home Wednesday to take on Hug.

SENATOR GIRLS SOCCER OPENS WITH WINS
Carson High School girls soccer started the season with a trio of wins against Elko (2-0), Fallon (1-0) and Lowry (1-0) before drawing Southeast Career Tech (1-1).
Alondra Carillo and Allison Peachay each delivered goals in the win over Elko while Dianna Torres tallied an assist.
Peachay went on to score in the win over Fallon while Carillo tallied a goal in the win over the Buckaroos and Carson’s 1-1 draw with Southeast Career Tech.
UP NEXT: Carson (3-0-1) played at Reed on Tuesday.

DAYTON BOYS SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL DROP OPENER
The Dust Devil boys soccer team fell 5-0 against Incline in its first game of the season this past weekend.
Dayton’s volleyball team lost in straight sets to Fernley, 2-0.
UP NEXT: Dayton’s boys soccer team (0-1) will be at home Friday against West Wendover for a 3 p.m. kickoff. Volleyball traveled to Smith Valley (4-3) on Tuesday.
