Greenwave Theatre is in an Emerald City state of mind this week with three showings remaining of “The Wizard of Oz,” today at 4:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.

The cast of students in sixth-12th grades from various Churchill County schools will come together to follow the yellow brick road and have a few adventures along the way.

Dorothy is portrayed by both Elaine Lewis and Sophia Derby and the Wicked Witch by Leah Bake and Serena “Ren” Ojeda in dual cast roles. Rounding out the main cast are Zander Lewis as the Cowardly Lion, Miles Henning as the tap dancing Tin Man, Dawson Juliet as the acrobatic Scarecrow and Kelly Melancon as Glinda.

Sage, a trained beagle, sniffs, sits and wanders on stage throughout the performance as Dorothy’s faithful furry companion, Toto. The musical also features a 10-piece orchestra to back performers during key moments, including the ballad “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and a large group of amusing chorus members as the Munchkins.

Tickets are available at http://www.our.show/fallon/wizard. Prices are $15 for general admission and $10 for K-12 students. All performances are in the newly-renovated Churchill County High School Auditorium with cushioned seating and upgraded lighting and sound systems.
