The Douglas High School boys basketball lost its first home game of the year to Pacifica Christian, 67-52, on Thursday, but bounced back by winning two of its next three contests.
In the loss to Pacifica Christian, Caden Thacker led the way with 21 points while Noah Kizer added 12.
The Tigers bounced back with wins over Union Mine (89-84) and Vista del Lago (60-55) before falling to Casa Roble (75-48).
In the win over Union Mine, Thacker once again had a team-high 28 points along with four assists. Trent Ipsen added 22 points in the win with six rebounds and four assists of his own.
Against Vista del Lago, Thacker had 25 points for the Tigers while Kizer and Ipsen had 14 and 11 points, respectively. Kizer ended the game with a double-double, adding 10 rebounds.
UP NEXT: Douglas (3-2, 1-0 in Class 5A North league play) hosted Reed (1-1, 0-1) Tuesday in a league contest.
GIRLS BASKETBALL 1-2 IN WEEKEND GAMES
Douglas High girls basketball took on two tough Class 3A teams over the weekend before finishing off a three-game non-league slate against North Tahoe.
In a 56-44 loss to Lowry, the Buckaroos’ Britain Backus dropped 41 points for Lowry.
The Tigers fell to Fernley the following day, 44-36.
Saturday, Douglas was back in the win column after thumping North Tahoe, 70-36.
Statistics were unavailable for the contests.
