Carson High School was named a recipient of the 2024 College Success Award by GreatSchools.org, which recognizes schools for their commitment to preparing students.
CHS is one of 1,436 public high schools across the nation (out of more than 95,000) to win this year's award, which is based on college preparation and postsecondary data shared by a state. CHS also is the third-highest contributor for the fall 2024 freshman class at the University of Nevada, Reno. More than 200 students from Carson High are enrolled in their first year at UNR.
“Websites like GreatSchools are what families are using when deciding to move to a community or not,” said Bridget Gordon-Johnson, counselor at Carson High.
The College Success Award evaluates public schools based on college readiness, enrollment and persistence data, focusing on how effectively schools equip students to not only pursue higher education but thrive in it.
