Father-daughter dance
Churchill County High School Safe and Sober Grad Nite 2025 presents the “Denim and Diamonds” Father-Daughter Dance on Jan. 17 from 6-9 p.m. at the Rafter 3C Arena. Admission is $20 per couple and $10 for each additional person.

New Year’s bull riding
The third annual Roughy Top Gun Invitational bull riding event on New Year’s Eve will be at the Rafter 3C to ring in 2025.
The doors open at 5 p.m., and the event will kick off at 8 p.m.
The Roughy Top Gun Invitational New Year’s Eve performance is a PRCA sanctioned, Division 1 extreme bulls event with the best bull riders in the world.
A concert will follow with the Chad Bushell Band. Catch the pre-party on Dec. 30 at The Grid, 1120 Taylor Place, at 6 p.m. There will also be an auction benefiting Nevada Bighorns Unlimited. All ages are welcome.

Churchill Arts Council exhibits
The Harry Wilson exhibit on photographs from the 1960s opened Nov. 11. Most of Wilson’s photographs were in a one-person exhibition at the de Young Museum in San Francisco in 1969.
This exhibit was most recently shown at the Monterey Museum of Art during 2019.
Sapira Cheuk’s exhibit in the E.L. Wiegand Gallery is open. She is an ink painter and installation artist. Born in Hong Kong and based in Las Vegas, her work often uses a blend of Sumi and India ink, symbolizing the mixture of her identities.
The exhibition presentation is Jan. 18 from 5-7:30 p.m.
Fernley Republican Women
The FRW’s Caring for America Program collects non-perishable foods for the Fernley Food Bank and the Armed Forces/Homeland Security Program collects cleaning supplies, food and personal care items, along with donations of funds, for the Veterans Guest House in Reno. All contributions for these important programs will be greatly appreciated.

Fallon Elks Holiday Market is Dec. 21-22. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.

VFW Christmas dinner
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1002 in Fallon invites residents to a free Christmas dinner on Dec. 21 from 2-6 p.m. at the VFW banquet hall.
The VFW is located at 405 S. Maine Street.
GOP women meet Jan 16
The Churchill Republican Women will hold its first meeting of the year on Jan 16 at the Old Post Office.
The purpose of the meeting is to take nominations from the floor and to present a list of members who have emailed a self-nomination and or nominated others for the CRW president, first vice president, second vice president, secretary and treasurer.
The time allows CRW members and possible new members to send in their membership signed form and the $50to be ready to vote and take up the CRW leadership for the next two years.
Churchill County Library
Stay warm at the library this holiday season and enjoy programming, books, online resources and more. The library will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 to observe the Christmas holiday.

• Adult BYOB(ook) Club takes place Dec. 19 at 4 p.m. Bring a book you are reading or recently read.

Stop by the Pennington Life Center in December for the many activities planned.
Plenty of good eats at the Pennington Life Center: All are welcome to partake. Lunch served 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays. Cost is $6 for those under age 60 and a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and older.
