The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is joining forces with surrounding law enforcement agencies this New Year’s Eve by increasing patrols to focus on removing impaired drivers off of roadways.
“Our goal is to reduce traffic crashes and fatalities associated with driving while impaired,” said Sgt. Olson in a press release.
Driving while impaired is deadly. About 32 percent of all traffic crash fatalities in the U.S. involve drunk drivers. Be a responsible driver this Holiday Season and plan your ride home before you start drinking. Call a taxi, a ride service, or a sober friend or family member. If you are drinking, do not drive.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will continue to enforce traffic safety laws and educate the public year-round as part of their commitment to reduce accidents and save lives. Whether you're the driver, a passenger, or a pedestrian, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to make safety on our roadways their top priority.
