The Nevada football team will hold its April 6 scrimmage at Carson High School, the program announced Wednesday.
The scrimmage will be open to the public; it is set for a 10 a.m. start.
“We are really excited to bring our team to Carson City this spring. It gives us a chance to connect with our fan base there and show them how much we appreciate and need their support during this launch,” Nevada head coach Jeff Choate said in a news release. “It also creates a different environment for our team, like simulating a road game.
“It will be a great event; we are planning some fan engagement activities with our players in conjunction with the scrimmage. We’re looking forward to Wolf Pack fans joining us at Carson High School on April 6.”
Nevada’s spring practice season is set for a March 12 start. The annual spring game will take place April 13, at Mackay Stadium.
The Wolf Pack is coming off consecutive 2-10 seasons. Choate and the team will debut Aug. 24 at home against SMU. Nevada’s non-conference schedule also includes Troy, Georgia Southern, Minnesota and Eastern Washington.
