In the Centennial Bulldog Grappler this past weekend, Carson High wrestling took home a pair of individual titles.
The first came from Keona Basa, who went 4-0 at 120 pounds.
Basa won his first three matches by pin, including a second-round pin in five seconds, before winning the title by a 5-3 decision.
At heavyweight, Dominic Porter found himself on the podium again, winning his bracket with a 4-0 record.
All four of Porter’s wins came by pin within the first 50 seconds of each match.
Izaiah Oliva and Lucas Wold both took third place at 190 and 132 pounds, respectively.
Oliva won his opening match by pin and then needed nearly every second to win his second-round match, 6-4, in sudden victory.
After falling in the semifinal, Oliva won by pin and 6-3 decision to take third.
Wold took advantage of a first-round bye by pinning his second-round opponent in 58 seconds.
After a 6-2 decision loss in the semifinals, Wold won his next two matches via pin to take the bronze.
At 106 pounds, Jesse Oliva was fourth, going 3-1 over his tournament before losing a tight 5-4 decision in the third-place round.
The first day of the tournament was a team dual where Carson went 2-0 with wins over Faith Lutheran (54-12) and Western (37-27).
