Monday’s King Duals at Reed High School ended in a unique fashion when Carson and Douglas wrestling met in the finals.
Instead of deciding a winner then, both head coaches agreed to save their matchup for Jan. 31, when the two teams are scheduled for their league dual in Carson.
Both coaches are hoping to build anticipation leading into the event. The winner Jan. 31 will also be able to claim the Kings Duals title.
In Monday’s dual tournament, Carson went 3-0 in besting Pershing County (63-18), South Tahoe (66-18) and McQueen (44-33).
Lucas Wold was perfect on the day, with two wins by pin and another by technical fall.
AJ Marhevka and Keona Basa each won a pair of matches, as well.
Douglas’ three wins en route to the finals went through Coral Academy (66-18), Galena (48-24) and Reed (42-36).
Kolton Zinn was a perfect 3-0 individually with three wins by pin at 150 pounds.

The Tigers snuck past Reno, 40-36, before defeating the hosts in Damonte Ranch, 42-33.
