The Great Basin Bull Sale returns to the Rafter 3C Arena in mid-February with four days of events of interest to any rancher, breeder, dog-lover or general livestock enthusiast.
The Great Basin Bull Sale on Feb. 17 begins at 1 p.m. at the Rafter 3C Arena, where discerning bull buyers can select from a large selection of performance-tested and range bulls for purchase.
Need to use age-advantaged bulls or high-efficiency genetics? Both will be available. The bull sale event is also free to attend.
Other events precede the bull sale. Come down to the Rafter 3C Arena on Feb. 14 and 15 to watch skilled working stock dogs compete with their handlers in the Mountain States Stock Dog Association dog trials, to kick off the week’s events. Start time is 7:30 a.m. each day and admission to the stands is free.
The Fallon Ranch Hand Rodeo hosts a hot iron branding event on Feb. 16 at 8 a.m. Watch teams of men, women and families compete for a check in the lifestyle competition. This event is free to attend.
Join us and the Rusty Canteen bar for a social hour in the arena on Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. Follow that with the Great Basin Bull Sale tri-tip dinner served at 5:30 p.m. Finish the night with dancing and a performance featuring country music singer Chad Bushnell, who was recently awarded “Modern Country Song of the Year” at the Josie Music Awards.
Tickets for the dinner and dance are $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under and must be purchased in advance online or with cash at the Community Activities/Parks & Recreation Office, 325 Sheckler Road, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
