Dr. Robin Titus has been named Nevada Senate minority leader. She takes over from Sen. Heidi Seevers Gansert, who stepped aside to spend more time with her family.
“As this election cycle heats up, I want to ensure the caucus has strong leadership. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Dr. Robin Titus over the past 10 years and she has my utmost confidence,” Seevers Gansert said.
Seevers Gansert is in her final term after two decades of public service. She will serve the remainder of her term.
“As our esteemed caucus leader, Sen. Seevers Gansert has exemplified unwavering dedication and leadership,” said Sen. Pete Goicoechea. “Her tenure has been marked by a legacy of accomplishments that have positively impacted Nevadans. As she steps down, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude.”
Throughout Seevers Gansert’s career, she has championed key policy issues. She has left an indelible mark on our state's political landscape, a press release said.
“I look forward to building upon the strong foundation Sen. Seevers Gansert has laid for our continued policy successes and electoral victories,” said Titus. “As the state bids farewell to her as a universally respected public servant, Nevada remains grateful for Sen. Seevers Gansert’s lasting contributions. I am looking forward to continuing to work with our Governor to ensure we protect his veto power by sustaining and growing our membership in the upper chamber. As Assembly Republican Leader, I helped the Republican Caucus gain two suburban seats to expand its membership beyond the super minority in 2020. We shall do so again.”
