After leading his team to the playoffs and an NAIA national ranking last fall, ex-Greenwave football star Brock Richardson was named an NAIA Academic All-American for the second straight year, as selected by the College Sports Communicators.

Richardson, who won state titles in football and basketball during his time with the Greenwave before graduating in 2020, caught 49 passes for 772 yards and seven touchdowns for the College of Idaho. The Yotes reached the semifinals of the NAIA Football Championship Series in Florida after averaging 38.8 points per game.

But just as impressive, Richardson picked up the academic honors for the second year in a row, becoming one of three COI players to become a two-time Academic All-American in program history. He and his three teammates were named to the first team, which was also the most in college football and program history.

Richardson also was an academic all-district honoree and member of the 2023 Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference Team.
