Summer programming continues in July at the Churchill County Library. Summer reading program activities include:

• Reading with Rover on July 11 at 3:30 p.m.

• The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival performers present a showcase on July 30 at 2 p.m.

• Sen. Rosen’s office representative will be at the library July 11 at 1 p.m.

• Elementary Book Club meets July 26 at 3:30 p.m. in the Library Annex at 3 p.m. for those in grades 3-5. Reserve your book to take home at: bit.ly/CCLElementaryBookClub  


Ongoing programs

• “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” encourages youngsters to read books before entering school. Book titles offered by library staff. Recognition given for every 100 books read on the way to 1,000. Sign-ups accepted at: bit.ly/CCL1000BBK.

• Spice Club features a different fair-trade spice featured for the community to try. Tag the library on social media to share your culinary creations. July’s spice is anise. All programs are free and open to the public.


Wednesdays

• Children’s story time at 11 a.m. Each week’s story time will feature the same content. Children’s librarian reads picture books to children and offers a craft to accompany most stories. Geared to children ages 3-5, but all are welcome.

• Family board game night at 4:30 p.m. Enjoy board games supplied by the library or bring your own.


Thursdays

• Children’s story time is at 10 and 11 a.m., except July 4.


Fridays

• STEAM sessions at 1:30 p.m. Choose from science, technology, engineering, art and math activities that vary from week to week. Geared to kids ages 6-11, but all are welcome.


Other services

• Desktop computers are available for public use free of charge. Make an appointment with library staff to set aside time as staff are not always available. Printing and photocopy services are available for a small printing fee.

• Online learning services include Mango, Creativebug, World Book, Libby, Hoopla and Kanopy. Use them to learn a new language, explore crafts, study the planet, or download audio books, movies, music and more.

The library, located at 553 S. Maine St., in Fallon, is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Sundays, Mondays, and major holidays.

The library will be closed July 4.
