Teams from three neighboring states as well as Nevada and Hawaii will battle next week in Fallon for the regional championship and ticket to next month’s World Series.

For the fourth year in a row, Fallon will host the 11-under Cal Ripken Pacific Southwest regional baseball tournament with the festivities kicking off Sunday followed by games Monday through Saturday.

The regional will take over Oats Park starting on Monday with a five-day round-robin schedule before the top-two teams in each of the two pools advance to the single-elimination bracket. Bracket play is Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. with the championship game at 2:30 p.m. The winner advances to the World Series. Admission is free.

Fallon’s 11U all-star team won the state tournament over Silver State last month in Reno to advance to the tournament. Fallon hosted last year’s 11U tournament and the year before, the 12U regional came to the Oasis of Nevada.

Fallon’s other all-star teams – 8U, 9U, 10U, 12U and 14U – also will be competing in the regional next week at various sites across California and Utah.

Teams will check in on Sunday, exchange pins, have dinner and then conclude the night with a skills competition before games begin the following day.

The field is divided into two pools and each team will have four games.

Pool “A” consists of Fallon, Scottsdale (Arizona), Tulare (Central Calif. No. 1), Kai (Hawaii No. 2) and Laguna Purple (Northern Calif. No. 1). Pool “B” includes Los Altos (Southern Calif.), Rohnert Park (Northern Calif. No. 2), Taylorsville (Utah), Oahu (Hawaii No. 1) and Hanford (Central Calif. No. 2).

Each of the round-robin days include four games at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday and 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Host Fallon will play the last game on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
