At approximately 10:05 p.m. Thursday, Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 400 block of Brookfield Ct. in Dayton for a report of a disturbance. During the initial investigation, it was determined that the subject was Paul Carnahan, 49, of Dayton.
Information gathered on scene revealed that Carnahan had left a residence armed with a knife and was suffering from multiple injuries. As the investigation continued, deputies determined that Carnahan had battered a female subject prior to fleeing the residence. Deputies determined there was probable cause to arrest Carnahan for domestic battery and actively searched for him in the area for several hours.
Due to Carnahan being armed with a knife, while actively fleeing deputies in a residential neighborhood, a shelter in place advisory was issued for residents in the area.
At approximately 8:24 a.m. Friday, deputies made contact with Carnahan, who was placed under arrest without further incident. Carnahan was treated for his injuries and subsequently transported to the Lyon County Jail, where he was booked on the charge of domestic battery, with a total bail amount of $3,140.
