NSP: Dayton man killed in Lyon County crash

One Dayton man died and a second Dayton man was arrested as the result of a Lyon County crash, according to a state police news release.

On June 2, at 8:34 p.m., the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol responded to a crash at Six Mile Canyon Road and San Clemens in Lyon County.

The preliminary investigation indicates a white 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling southbound on Six Mile Canyon Road approaching San Clemens Avenue. The Chevrolet rotated clockwise and traveled southwest across the travel lane, exited the roadway, struck a ditch, and became airborne, the release said. The Chevrolet then struck a fence on private property and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.

The passenger, Tyller Nichols, a 30-year-old male from Dayton, was ejected. Nichols was pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver, Kyle Walker, a 34-year-old male from Dayton, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Lyon County jail.

The preliminary investigation indicates they were not wearing seatbelts.

The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multidisciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
