K-9 Cash was utilized during the traffic stop. The deputy provided a positive alert to the car indicating the presence of narcotics.

A search was conducted on the vehicle and detectives located 11.7 pounds of fentanyl.  The narcotics consisted of a combination of fentanyl pills along with powder fentanyl.  The fentanyl was packaged in such a way that was consistent with someone trying to smuggle drugs on their body.

Martinez and Rochin were booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of:

• Possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl)

• Trafficking a controlled substance of more than 400 grams (fentanyl)
