Snow forced Friday’s track and field meet to be moved from McQueen to Douglas High School.
The Tigers’ girls team was able to win the meet with 73 points ahead of Bishop Manogue (45) and McQueen (32).
On the boys side, it was McQueen that came out in first place with 75 points, followed by Bishop Manogue (47) and Douglas (32).
Sophomore Grace Strabala won the 100-meter dash for the Tiger girls in 12.8 seconds, finishing ahead of teammate Bliss Moody (13.2). Elizabeth Gneiting was third in 13.6 seconds.
Moody went on to win the 200 in 28.29 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 5.25 inches.
In the 400, Strabala took second in 1:02.54 for a personal record.
Lucia Nord was fifth in the 800 for Douglas in 2:47.38 before taking third in the 1,600 in 6:01.97, while Ayla Nelson was fourth in 6:04.53.
Nelson won the 3,200-meter event in 13:21.
Sisters Katelyn Coons, a sophomore, and Ava Coons, a senior, went 1-2 in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles.
Katelyn won the 100-meter hurdles in 17 flat, setting a personal record. Katelyn also won the 300 in 49.60 seconds.
In the field events, Harley Smith was first in the discus with a throw of 76 feet, 2 inches. Smith was second in the shot put with a mark of 26-2.
Senior Logan Karwoski set a personal record in the high jump, taking first place after clearing 5-2.
Stella White won the pole vault event with a clearance of 10-6.
On the boys side, senior Reed Ward took second in the 100-meter dash (11.4) before winning the 200 (23.6).
Luke Davis was first in the 800-meter run in 2:04.80 and also grabbed second in the 1,600 in 4:37.93.
Douglas’ 4x400 relay team of James Peachey, Kevin O’Connell, Darryl Hinkle and Lukas Neely took second place in 3:42.38.
Neely was a second-place finisher in the boys high jump, clearing 5-4.
Connor Jackson took second in the long jump with a leap of 19-1.
UP NEXT: Douglas will be back in action Saturday in California at the fourth annual Fighting Zerbas Invitational at Lincoln High School.
