Lane closures will take place on U.S. 50 in Mound House and Dayton beginning Monday, March 18 as the Nevada Department of Transportation replaces concrete barrier rail in the median.
One lane will intermittently be closed in each direction on one-mile segments of U.S. 50 between Baldwine Lane in Mound House and Winters Parkway in Dayton from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays March 18 through mid-April. Speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph.
While most delays will be moderate, travel delays of up to 30 minutes can be expected through the work zone. The road work schedule is subject to change.
The modern, heavier barrier rail will help reduce the potential of cross-over crashes and, in many places, will provide for easier maintenance and replacement of any barrier rail hit in crashes.
