CCFD responds to chicken coop fire

The Carson City Fire Department responded to a chicken coop on fire at a residence in the 4000 block of Ponderosa Drive around 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to Micah Horton, CCFD battalion chief, the fire was put out in a matter of minutes. He said the cause of the fire was under investigation.

There were no injuries reported from the incident, human or fowl.

“We even saved the birds,” said Horton.
