A Fernley man was arrested Thursday after battering a woman twice earlier in the day, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said in a new release.
Cody Cunningham, 28, was booked into the Lyon County jail Thursday afternoon and faces a felony domestic battery charge, LCSO said.
On Thursday, at 1:13 p.m., LCSO deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Rosecrest Drive in Fernley for a report of a domestic battery. The victim stated the suspect had left before deputies arrived, the release said. Deputies established probable cause to arrest Cunningham.
At 3:06 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the address for another reported domestic battery and found the victim suffering from substantial injuries as a result of a subsequent assault, the release said. She was evaluated by paramedics and transported to an area hospital for emergency treatment. Cunningham was again identified as the suspect.
Deputies located Cunningham walking in the neighborhood about 30 minutes later, the LCSO said.
