I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world. John 16:33

This is a well-known verse from the lips of Jesus. His words are very relevant because, 2,000 years later, we continue to be plagued with trials and sorrows and truly need the peace that he promises!

He instructs us to “take heart,” but what does that mean? Well, frequently I find myself on my phone looking for other ways to say things. Here’s what I just found about “take heart”: be encouraged, be comforted, cheer up, brighten up.

We can rejoice because Jesus overcame the troubles of this world and enables us to do the same! So, on this very day, “Peace be unto you.” Luke 24:36
