Carson High School track and field put together the last regular season meet of the spring Saturday.
As a team, the Senator girls took sixth place with 46 points while the boys were eighth with 32.5.
On the girls side, Hannah Budd was fifth in the 800 with a season-best time of 2:30.56 while Nastasia Sulprizio set a personal record of 2:31.53 to take seventh.
Budd won the 3,200 in a time of 12:07.20, a season-best.
Brianna Rodriguez-Nunez and Vea Miner were sixth and eighth, respectively, in the 1,600.
Junior Anne Davis was third in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a 16.6, while Kaylynn Bloomfield was second in the 300-meter hurdles with a personal record of 47.37.
Davis set a PR in the long jump, 16 feet, 3 inches, to take fourth while Dayna Myrehn was sixth at 15-9.5.
On the boys side, Jacob Weninger was ninth in the 200-meter dash in 23.77.
Jaren Thornburg was ninth for the Senators in the 800, timing a 2:10.21.
In the 1,600 sophomore Sean Thornton took fifth in a PR of 4:30.71.
Meanwhile, Alex Miner (10:00.81) and Thornton (10:12.35) went second and third, respectively, in the 3,200.
The Senators boys 4x800 relay squad – Thornburg, Thornton, Miner and Sawyer Macy – finished in second in 8:24.97.
Senior Ryan Barbarigos was 14th in the shot put with a throw of 40-5.25.
In the pole vault, Sylis Chalmers and Maddox Sweet were sixth and eighth, respectively as both finished with clearances of 11 feet, six inches.
Dayton High School’s Rhys Evans was eighth in the 300-meter hurdles with a PR time of 43.38.
On the girls side, Penny-Laine Vaelua was 10th in the discus with a throw of 83-4.
In the 400, Sierra Lutheran freshman Sofia Gilson was ninth in 1:04.69, setting a personal record.

CHS SOFTBALL 3-2 AT TOURNEY
The Senator softball team took part in a five-game tournament over the weekend in Susanville, California where the Senators were able to win three.
Carson’s bats woke up against Colusa (11-9) and Willows (15-8) while also recording a 7-1 win over Lassen.
The Senators’ two losses came at the hands of Red Bluff (7-5) and West Valley (12-4).
In the win over Colusa, Lillian Barker homered and drove in three runs for Carson while Jasmine Slater went 3-for-3.
Bella Reyes didn’t allow an earned run and recorded three strikeouts in the win over Lassen while also going 3-for-4 at the plate.
Sofia Morrison had two triples and was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
Reyes and Morrison both homered against Willows while Morrison drove in four RBIs.
Cali Stagliano was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs against Willows.
UP NEXT: Carson (7-15, 2-10 in Class 5A North league play) has four league games left, starting Tuesday at home against Bishop Manogue (19-9, 10-4).
SENATOR BASEBALL SHUTOUT BY SPANISH SPRINGS
Carson High baseball couldn’t find its way into the win column Saturday in a 10-0 league loss to Spanish Springs.
Marcus Montes had two hits for the Senators while Tyler LaFollette, Ethan Cook, Noah Silverberg and Chase Grundy each tallied one hit.
Demarcus Brewster recorded four outs in a relief appearance, striking out three hitters.
UP NEXT: Carson (8-19, 1-13) closes out the regular season at Galena (17-6, 10-4) Tuesday before playing in the season finale Wednesday at Bishop Manogue (14-12, 11-3).
DAYTON SOFTBALL DROPS TWO TO LOWRY
Dayton High softball saw its postseason chances come to a close over the weekend after losing two games to Lowry, 18-2 and 15-0.
Junior Dana Micone and senior Zoee Wass were each credited with an RBI in the game one loss.
The third game of the series was postponed and will be made up Wednesday at Dayton.
DAYTON BASEBALL SPLITS WITH BUCKAROOS
The Dust Devil baseball team split its two-game series with Lowry over the weekend, dropping game one, 8-5, before winning, 10-5.
In the win, sophomore Beau Walker and senior Dakota Higday both drove in a run while junior Ivor Evans recorded a triple.
The third game of the series was postponed due to weather and will be made up Wednesday at Dayton.
Neither team will qualify for the regional playoffs.
FALCON BASEBALL LOSES SERIES TO PERSHING COUNTY
Sierra Lutheran baseball was able to win one of three games against Pershing County over the weekend.
The first two contests went in favor of the Mustangs by final scores of 9-8 and 5-4 before Sierra Lutheran won game three, 3-2.
Matt Fahey, Joseph Seddon, and Paul Mueller all had an RBI in the win.
Seddon had 10 strikeouts while allowing four hits and one earned run.
UP NEXT: Sierra Lutheran (8-13, 8-13 in Class 2A North league play) will conclude the regular season at Yerington (17-6, 16-5) Saturday in a doubleheader.
