The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is hosting its annual Cops and Kids open house 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in front of the CCSO building at 911 E. Musser St.

The event is free and open to the public.

“The purpose of the event is to provide a fun and interactive environment for kids and their families to engage with law enforcement, while also promoting positive relationships between law enforcement and the community as a whole,” CCSO said in a news release.

Various law enforcement entities, including the K-9 unit, SWAT, the traffic division, detectives and the Special Enforcement Team will be present. Children will have the opportunity to see a range of law enforcement tools, such as police gear, patrol cars and SWAT vehicles.

“The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is committed to building strong, positive bonds between law enforcement and the youth in the community, and we invite everyone to join us at this event,” CCSO said.
