Fallon senior Zachary Koenig won two events and senior Gracie Cosman medaled in two as the Greenwave competed in the Class 3A state swimming championships Saturday in Las Vegas.

Koenig took home the gold in the 100-yard freestyle with a winning time of 48.61 seconds to defeat Truckee senior Noah Erskine by 0.72 seconds. He followed with a win in the 100 breaststroke in 58.37, about 3 seconds ahead of second place as he was the only one to finish the race under a minute.

Koenig’s titles are the first for the Greenwave since it began competing in the 3A division, which split from the 5A in 2013.

Cosman finished third in the 100 breaststroke and fourth in the 200 individual medley. Both of her times were the second fastest of the four Northern swimmers. She swam the breaststroke in 1:17.79 and 2:32.32 in the IM.

Fallon competed in two relay events, finishing seventh in the 200 free and eighth in the 200 medley. Both teams consisted of Koenig, Brody Reynolds, William McLean and Michael Liston. They finished the 200 free in 1.46.50 and 200 medley in 1:55.79.
