Briefly describe the core duties of the position you are running for.
County commissioners establish county codes and master plans, manage the budget, approve or deny development applications and govern the county as a board of 5. It’s our responsibility to anticipate, prepare for and administer to the needs of the citizens to provide the best quality of life.

A brief statement about your platform.
One of my priorities is addressing the issue of highway safety on the Highway 50 corridor. I’ve already had success and am already addressing future needs.
Achieving a better fiscal outlook is a goal I’ve been working on as well. We’ve hired a firm to pursue federal funding for capital improvement projects. We also present our needs in person to our congressional delegation. To date, this has resulted in over 4 million dollars in funding.
Current County Code is in need of some revisions to better serve our public. Staff is currently working on some of those changes as directed by the board.
I report back to the community advisory boards on the actions of the county commission. I will continue to do this to be held responsible for my choices and stay in tune with the wishes of those I serve.

What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?
My 30 years of experience in civil engineering and land surveying have provided me with a valuable understanding of municipal codes, development standards and land use best practices. My experience on other Lyon County boards has given me the knowledge required to work within open meeting law requirements to achieve the best outcome for Lyon County. I was born and raised in Lyon County. It’s my home. I want to continue to use my knowledge and skill to serve the people of Lyon County.

Briefly describe the core duties of the position you are running for.
Represent my district as part of the body that makes policies and laws to benefit the health, safety and success of my county.

A brief statement about your platform.

I represent the often-overlooked demographic. I am a longtime member of Lyon County, who has struggled to make ends meet while raising a family. As prices rise and opportunities dwindle, I think it's time to change our current path to becoming a bedroom community with no water and no jobs. Protect the rights of property owners. Loosen restrictions and fees to businesses that want to move here. We need more local jobs and shopping in every town.

What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?

I am not a career politician. I have no business interests attached to my run for office. I am a regular citizen who cares about the county I call home, and I am not afraid to put in the work to keep it safe and make it thrive.
