Tiger divers go 2, 3, 4 at state

The Douglas High School diving team was well represented at the Class 5A state meet in Las Vegas this past weekend.

Three Tiger divers qualified from regionals and all three finished inside the top four at the final meet of the season.

Allen Baker took second place with a score of 390.85 while Kolten Brown was third with a judged score of 357.15.

In fourth was senior Austin Pitts, who put together a score of 350.15.

In the swimming events, Matthew Sutton was eighth in the 100-yard freestyle in 51.35.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Sutton also touched the wall in eighth place in a time of 24.04.

Sophomore Baylen Rowlett completed the 500-yard freestyle in 5:21.47 to take seventh place overall.

Douglas’ medley relay team of Matthew Yturbide, Sutton, Rowlett and Timothy Gleason took eighth place in 1:51.17.

The Tiger boys team finished eighth out of 15 teams with 24 total team points.
