Three athletes selected for Anderson scholarships

The Joshua L. Anderson Memorial Foundation announced its 2024 scholarship recipients for Northern Nevada baseball and softball athletes.

Each recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship.

Douglas High’s Talia Tretton and Aaron Tekansik joined Carson’s Kameron Reed as three of the 15 athletes chosen.

The memorial foundation has been awarding college scholarships to Northern Nevada baseball and softball athletes for the last 32 years. Recipients are chosen for academic excellence while maintaining a high level of community and school activities.

Since its inception in 1992, the foundation has awarded $1,240,500 in scholarships to 380 student-athletes from 35 different high schools.

The other 2024 recipients were Joseph Czyz (Galena), Maleia Daley (Smith Valley), Lucas Glass (Damonte Ranch), Madyson Grenz (Pershing County), Reece Hutchings (Fallon), Maddison McClure (Lowry), Danyel Micheli (Carlin), Eneyde Rios (Oasis Academy), Luke Sala (Reno) and Michael Zito (Reed).
